Does Harmony Coconut-free Shampoo lather?
Soapnuts have naturally occurring saponins. Saponins have soap like qualities and create foam when introduced to water. Due to this mechanism, Harmony Shampoo has a wonderful lather.
I have heard that babassu oil is good alternative for coconut oil. Do you use it?
No, our products do not contain babassu oil. I have seen many “coconut-free” products using babassu oil as an alternative. These companies simply have not researched enough to understand that babassu contains similar constituents to coconut oil. If you are allergic to one, it is highly likely that you will be allergic to the other. Here a good article to review on babassu oil vs coconut oil.
I have other allergies besides coconut and palm. How do I know which of your products are safe for me to use?
The safest way for anyone with allergies or sensitivities to know which of our products are safe are safe for them to use is to know your allergies and read the ingredients list. We ensure that each listing has all ingredients listed. We can’t tell you what is safe or not safe for your particular allergies, but we can make sure you know what is in each formulation. We try to label any potential issues that are shared with us. Like soapnuts are not suitable for anyone with a latex allergy.
It is important to know that we cannot refund based on a reaction. Please be sure to check all the ingredients and know your allergy before you buy.
Is there baking soda in your MagneZinc deodorant?
MagneZinc deodorant does not contain baking soda, aluminum, coconut, palm oil or phthalates. What it does contain is the powerhouse, odor fighting duo of magnesium and zinc, essential elements already in our body. Our formulation is crafted from minerals and plants and is effective for the majority of users.
Does MagneZinc deodorant require a detox period?
Every body is different, but for the majority of our users, they did not need a detox period for their body. Natural deodorants are not a one-size-fits-all solution. What works wonders for one person might be ineffective or even irritating for another. This is because everyone's body chemistry, sweat production, and skin sensitivity are different.
Initially, you may notice an increase of sweat but within a few weeks, your body will find it’s own natural balance of expiration.
There is a problem with my order. What should I do?
Email me immediately at Lee@pectolite.net. We do all that we can to ensure quality products are shipped. These are handmade small batch items using natural ingredients, so consistency in color and cut may vary from product to product. However, you will always receive the full weighted amount of the product that you ordered.
If there is a shipping issue, please hold onto all the packaging, even if it is drippy messy. You will need to photograph the package and product and email me the images at Lee@pectolite.net. Each order is insured, however, carriers may require that the packaging be brought in to them for inspection. Please notify me within 3-days of receiving your order. This is our best chance of working with carriers.
Do you ship outside of the US?
If you are willing to pay for shipping, we are willing to ship to you. Shipping is often cost prohibitive within the US. It becomes astronomically so outside of the US. If you have suggestions for more affordable shipping in your area, or for a vendor who might be interested in carrying our products, we would like to hear about it. Email me at Lee@pectolite.net.
Do you make all your own products?
I handcraft every product and recipe, except for our shampoo and conditioner. We don’t not have the ingredients in the US to make our wonderful hair care products. They are sustainably crafted and imported from Thailand.
All handcrafted soaps, lotions, and deodorants have a curing time. If we go out of stock, please know that we are working on it. We have limited space in which to create and store products and we work to stay on top of inventory. 2020 was a merciless year and we have decided to stay small for awhile longer until we can get orders back up to pre-2020 levels.
Why does shipping take 7 to 10 days?
We are truly a small family business. I am single mom with four children. We are Pectolite, LLC. We would love to grow bigger and be able to provide greater offerings, but at this time we have to balance this business which is more labor of love than money maker, with the other part of our lives. This business is about helping provide for those who don’t find a lot of support in world rife with coconut.
